    I think poor patton4 may have to add a lot of new shows to his poll, if everybody suggests their favourite, fortunately mine is already on there.

    I must admit, that out of the options given, I have only heard of:

    Hogan's Heroes
    M*A*S*H
    Dad's Army
    A-Team

    And have never heard of:

    Combat
    Rat Patrol
    JAG
    CPO Sharky
    China Beach

    I think China Beach won an emmy , and an oscar , I watched mash when it was funny , then Alan alda became the head writer and screwed everything up and made it all dramatic

    Combat was my favorite. An early-mid 60's show about a US WWII squad. B&W, most of the stories were written/inspired by veterans. While far from being accurate, they were not always "heroic against the odds" stories and many dealt with the seamier side of comabt and human nature.
