Heres a good backyard barbecue tip : get some hot dogs or sausages , get a bowl and fill it with beer (dosen't matter what kind , taste may vary depending on type of beer) put some onions in the bowl , then put the sausages in the bowl , then put the bowl on the barbecue , im not sure if the bowl would burn or not , find something to keep the bowl a couple to a few inches above the flames , if your worryed about the bowl being directly burned , and ruined

    Sounds great

Surely it's a waste of good beer and good sausages?

I prefer the old BBQ them till they are charcholed whilst supping the beer, then BBQ them for a further 10 minutes whilst you pee, get more beer and ensure that no one will be poisoned by undercooked meat.

That is a good recipe. The darker beers work better in barbecue. If you use a stainless steel bowl, you have no worries. After all that has boiled out, I like to throw them on the grill itself for a little while to cook. Yum, yum!

If you fry fish, put some beer (lighter beer this time) in the batter. That's awesome too.

Grilled (smoked) fish is damn good!

Anyway, I was referring to frying it hence putting it batter. ;)

Obviously you've never sampled the delights of salmon & dill foil parcels, washed down with a crisp Frascati.

Home made steak mince burgers. Local butchers "home made" sausages, especially pork & leek or pork & tomatoe. Sirloin steaks with all the trimmings. Paella.

Just a few of my barbecue favourites, usually washed down with copious quatities of red wine.

Beer is OK, especially a cold one on a hot day (not that we get many of those in Blighty) but it's too fattening for me, so I tend to stick to the Vin Rouge.

    Each to his own.

Enjoy this years BBQ season! :D :D

I do the beer sausage thing.. its good. Just buy more beer.

I like smoked fish, salmon, trout whatever.

I buY whole garlic and wrap it in aluminium foil and grill it for an hour. ( olive oil and salt first). Spread it on bread like it is butter.

I also do the same with cabbage, corn, whatever.. ONIONS

    GREAT!!!

I buy canned beans, pour them on a flat pie tin, spice em up, and smoke them, add BBQ sauce if they start to dry out.

Grilled eggplant- herbs , olive oil and then cheese on top at the last minute.

My special BBQ dry rub for pork ribs..

Cumin (comino) Garlic powder, dash curry powder, chili or black pepper powder.

Smoke slowly, never letting the flame touch them ( use foil) use aromtic woods (mixed) apple, maple, plum, mesquite,

    I like grilled shrimp..

    Smoked oysters- wow

Smoked duck stuffed with oysters- outrageous
