Twelve points to Greece. English spelling is "Hecate". Well done! Like Smeghead said, Medusa is not really a goddess. Neither is Cleopatra, or else we'd have to start calling Alexander the Great a god as well, and all the Roman emperors. I don't remember Hera drinking blood...
Lol! Hecate... how i forgot it... Also, i believe the signs were not put there by luck... To be honest, it was not the blood that led me to the solution...Actually, in Greek mythology she was not bloodthirsty. Most ancient drawings show her bearing torches rather than swords and snakes...
I thought Medusa was goddess. Well, you leanr somethin every day. I thought it was medusa because of the snake.
I know. There are actually two versions of Hecate. The Greek standard is a goddess of wisdom and childbirth, who carries a knife to cut umbilical cords and a torch as a symbol of wisdom. However, the Near Asian standard (which is just as Greek but not from Greece itself) was known as the Queen of Ghosts, a goddess who haunted roads and three-way crossings at night looking for blood to drink and souls to steal. She was accompanied by the sound of howling dogs and carried snakes and keys as symbols of the Underworld.
Merlin, do you have the picture you posted on the previous page up somewhere else online? I'm sure I've seen it before..... Edit: Thought I stick this up. It's a modified SF-16D from my story and currently in use in the Future Wars RP. Looks a little fat to me. Think I should try lengthening the fuse?
post subject SB, you may have seen the 2005 Christmas card on one of the Service webs, or possibly it has been posted on by others. Have a look at this years on 'Announcements' thread. Also a few more you may have come across in the past, the Beetle was the insignia on my 3ton Chev. OK, I know they are not up to the artistic standards on this thread but served for many years on 'Snail- Mail' before PC age!!!
I've mostly been drawing requests lately, none of which can really be shown here. This here is the first one I've made for myself in a long time. Once again it's a part of the story I'm writing, but this time it's a part I haven't written yet, so sorry Ricky for giving it away. Observing (and forgiving) viewers might recognize the man on the left.
Yep, he does look familiar to me. I believe you once posted a drawing of him on this topic (I believe the one where he is removing his mask)
The Final of the World Championship Staring Contest gooes into extra time! Roel you are the master of the 'seriously pissed off' expression. Here my latest effort, click past the warning thing. It one I did in relation to my Nameless War story some of you might remember. http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/art/e/b/e ... e.jpg.html
Nope, this is the guy I've drawn as a bloodied and battered soldier before, in a much younger form. Actually I thought the likeness was quite all right... Ricky: if you thought the guy on the right was the Successor, then you were correct. Of course, the "1SF6ER" tattooed on the cheek kind of gives it away, too. Ebar: thanks! Your fighter drawing looks very alive, very tangible, nice work on that. Though I presume the exhaust beams of the central fighter should not have stopped in the middle of the page?
Probably. This was one of those drawing that was done without any single clear starting idea. The whole engine trails was a late idea which I think worked fairly well.
