    hmm,
which calibre had the biggest gun that ever mounted on a tank (vehicle).
Was it the Karl-Gerät, so called Thor, with a 60cm gun?
I didn´t find a similar thread, sry for doubleposting, if.

Krupp's 80cm Gustav/Dora are the largest guns put on a vehicle, that is, if you are counting railway cars. The damn gun had its own air unit attached to it! I know of one occasion where the Gustav was used (bombardment of Sevastapol), and one shell penetrated some 100 feet of earth and concrete right into a Soviet ammo dump. It goes without saying, not much was left. :p The Germans had planned on self propelling this gun with the P1500 (as well as 2x150mm canons), but it never left the drawing board.

I don't think so, but at 914mm it is definently the largest gun to date.

Where did those drawings come from? :)

Is this the biggest calibre mounted on tanks, or self-propelled gun systems in general? We need to be sure of the definitions.[/b]
