Does anybody have / know where I can see or get any pictures of the Sherman's engine - the radial varient?

Preferably pictures of the engine actually inside the hull, and preferably in colour, but I'm not too fussy.

This is best I can find...

These are nice, but more = better!
(it is for a future modelling project)

I know it's not what you're looking for, but once I get home I'll search throw some of my tank books, I'm sure one has a picture of the radial engine in the hull. :)

    Actually very helpful thanks! :D

One shows the colours, one shows the engine layout.

One more engine question - in the model kit there is a long tool-type-thing on top of the engine deck - it looks like a long crank handle for manually turning the engine over. Is it?

And a question from your pictures - the top one - is that a 105mm Sherman?

It's a hand drawn horribly disproportioned Sherman.

As far as I know the barrel of the 105mm is actually shorter and wider (not surprisingly, that last bit!) than the M3 75mm.

Ricky, just a quick note, the second picture you posted at the start there is actually the A57 Chrysler multibank. If you look you can see clearly three of the five distributor caps, the copper coloured things with 6 leads comming out of them, and bits of the other two are just visible.

Yeah, I worked that one out when I noticed that it just did not match with the rotary mounting. Thanks Gryle. :)

I thought you might have, but since no one had mentioned it in this thread I thought I might just point it out anyway.
