Actually that would be,
Pearl Harbor II, Roosevelt's Revenge: FOR FREEDOM, FOR DEMOCRACY, AND FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

 

Talking of sequels, suggestions for a plot for the sequel to Titanic ?

 

I think there's a Futurama episode out there in which the Titanic is a spaceship... My best bet for a Titanic sequel.

I liked the joke they made in the tagline for Scary Movie. The first part, referring of course to all the horror movies out there with a gazillion sequels, had "No mercy, no shame, no sequel" as a tagline. Then came part two: "More merciless, more shameless, and obviously we lied."

 

Of course it must be "Raise the Titanic", which was actually an immensely popular novel in the mid 70's that was made into a movie (which sunk too) in 1980. The plot was that the Titanic was carrying some super-rare mineral that the US needed for its' Star Wars project (and this was pre-Reagan) so they decide to secretely raise it, only to be sabotaged by the evil Soviets who of course know everybody's secrets. I didn't see the movie but the comic strip version (I'm ashamed to say that's how I read it, in each day's newspaper) was rather interesting.

I have to admit that I have that movie on DVD. It must be the worst movie I have; somehow they managed to lose all the spirit and action that original book had. And Richard Jordan was so unfit for role of Dirk Pitt!
Movie was really boring, even having Jason Robarts and Alec Guinness didn't save it from being rubbish.

 

Yes we won't mention "raise the Titanic"! A good(ish) book spoiled)

I was thinking about the Winslett/DiCaprio version -- so successful that there was a lot of talk about a sequel.

When I went to see Titanic, I overheard a girl saying to her friend "I wonder what happens" -- Obviously more chlorine needed in the gene pool!

On a similar vein, when I came out of watching Pearl Harbour, on a cold winter evening, I heard someone say "There's a nip in the air tonight"

INCREDIBLE!! But true. The idea was only formally scrapped by the studio a few years ago.

 

Only slightly off topic, but a friend of mine had a similar experience when going to see Mel Gibson's Passion. He and his wife were talking about it, and someone got upset because they talked about the ending!

 

Obviously hadn't read the Book then!

I don't know about you guys, though, but I found The Passion of the Christ pretty boring. That's probably because I did already know the ending...
