Hi all, I have placed this topic here since I thought it suited best, but if it should be somewhere else feel free to move it admins! Almost a month ago I went to paris on holiday, and on my visit to the Arc de Triomphe I discovered memorial plates on the ground. They had these for all the wars France has fought in, but I took just one picture (it would make no sense photographing all of them), the one for ww2. Translation as follows: To the soldiers in the armies, To the people fighting in the resistance, who died for France 1939- 1945
post subject Good thinking PP, 'Rats of Tobruk' memorial at Alrewas Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire.
1) Australian-Greek Memorial -- for the dead of the Greek campaign -- situated in Australia. 2) General view of the area around the Memorial (situated in top of fort Roupel) for the Greek soldiers that died defending the fort -- part of Metaxas Line in Macedonia. PS; Unfortunately, i can't provide any closer pictures at the moment...
Here is the old topic on this subject, with several other monuments: http://www.fun-online.sk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1183 Here's some monuments I've run into on more recent holidays (these were taken last year in the Ardennes and Luxembourg). Bottom one is situated just outside a tiny village called Amonines; the top two are right beside the main crossroads of Marnach, near Clervaux.

Yeah I´ve been looking all over for that thread to post mine in, but I didn't expect it to be in the members lounge. *never would have thought of that...* Great pictures, merlin. Thanks for sharing!
