How About a Group Build

1.We settle on a modelling subject.
2.We set a starting date.
3.We set an ending date.
4.We post pics of our models on the forum.

What do you guys think?

 

Sounds like a very interesting idea.

 

i like the idea, but i hate date lines, ( some of my models been waiting years to be finished!!!!!)

 

We could set a start date of October 1st and an end date of October 31st.
That could be plenty of time to get something done.

 

Time/dead line should be dependant on the size and subject of the build.

How about figuring out what we want to do first and then decide how long we will take to do it?

Obviously something WWII related.The options are endless.We could have a German armor build,American,British etc..Or we could have an Allied armor build.Maybe a soft skinned vehicle build.What do you think?

 

Since this is a tank website I think it should be some sort of AFV.

 

how about a pz 4, any model or variant?

 

it definately sounds like a great plan. I feel like I should compete too, being moderator of the hobbies section and all, but I do have thesame time problem that me262 already mentioned. Apart from that, I do think it´s a great plan!

Pz 4 would make a good pick because there´s many variants of it. I have recently made a pz 4 variant though, so I´m not exaclty looking forward to having to cut, paint and fix so many very small wheels again!

Anyone having thoughts?

 

A Panzer IV build sounds cool to me.We definately don't have to rush this.
We could give it two months.BTW,would this be strictly Panzer IV tank variants, or anything based on the chassis?

 

Not wanting to cry but I already have a Pz IV. How about a StuG III?

Or, to make things simple, we could do anything German (with tracks) this time and maybe do something else next go around?

Also, are we going to do any scale or a particular scale?

Well we could do a diorama around the panzer IV so that ppl that already have a panzer IV (like me) could paricipate to. Or you could have the diorama a separated category.

 

So far we have:

1.Panzer IV

2.StuG III

3.Diorama build.

4.Anything German with tracks.

Personally,I'd like to build a German half-track.That would be something new for me.

Great idea!

I have been banned from buying any new model kits until I finish my old ones, so it would have to be something I already have.

This means that the scale would be 1/72 - this is probably a good scale to go with anyway, not-so-good modellors (like myself) can be intimidated by larger-scale kits.

German sounds good - I have Pz.IV, Panther and Tiger I kits.

My vote goes for Tiger I, but I'm not too fussed.

 

I would be interested, depending on the scale (my stash is mostly 1/35) and timescale (real life getting a bit too hectic at the moment)

Why not have "anything German with tracks" and keep it open. That keeps everyone happy so far.
