I picked up the Panzer Grenadier set from Tamiya, wanted a figure to go with this one, my figure skills have always been mediocre at best, but we shall see how it turns out
Going to take a look at this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7686667&st=canon+a530&type=product&id=1134703785643
Looks good. I have heard good things about Nikon too. I might go to an Olympus if I decide to get a better one. Everybody I know who has one says they are very good. Macro feature is the most important for taking small detailed pictures.
I talked to my cousin who is into photography a little bit, since my knowledge is almost nil as to the specs that would meet my needs, He told me the macro feature and control of the white balance are two features that i should be looking for, he is the one who suggested this particular model as it should meet my needs and is relatively inexpensive. I shouldnt really be buying myself stuff as the holidays are rapidly approaching, but im fed up with crappy pics that dont even remotely resemble the subject matter LOL Interestingly enough the camera he suggested wouldnt have even been one i would have looked at, I woulda probably spent alot more money on a bigger gadgety filled camera that would be overkill for what im going to use one for.
great to hear that you've purchased a new camera. Nevertheless, the pics of the Stug look fine! You've made a truly beautiful Stug.
Other things to look at are some rests (I have a shorty tripod that came with a spotting scope and sand bags on boxes) to steady the camera and a background that will make the subject stand out. You don't want folks to look at the background as they look at the subject. Example, when you used the keyboard for the tank to sit on, folks are drawn to the keyboard as much as they are the model. I placed the StuG on the back side of a plastic "For Sale" sign.
good point there. I think ST (amongst others!) has done a good job in this subject- his background was no distraction.
Looks good to me. The picture looks dark but that can usually be fixed with some editing (if your camera software allows that).
Yeah the pics are dark, i tried several different lighting conditions and the "normal" ones all made the paintjob look worse, like it couldnt differentiate between the shades of white and gray. Oh well, doin the best i can LOL
That's cool. Just remember all that when you pick out your camera. The software is just as important as the camera.
