In a beauty contest... which WW2 aircraft--any catagory--would be in your Final Three?

    For me:
    Lockheed P-38F-G-H model Lightning
    De Haviland Mosquito
    Messerschmitt Me-262

    Tricky one...

    For me, I'd say:

    Supermarine Spitfire (Any Merlin version)
    Martin B-26 Marauder
    dH Mosquito

    OK, 2 and 3 are
PBY Catalina flying boat -- wierd but "cute"
Spitfire (any mark as long as it doesnt have a bubble canopy)

In no particular order, by the way, its difficult to pick just three

    B-26 Marauder

    Bristol Beaufighter

    Spitfire

I imagine the Spitfire would come close to the top of alot of lists, its tough to put my finger on what it is exactly, but it has a grace and presence that is still unequaled to this day

If my question had been revised to the "Top Five"... the "Spit" would have been on my list as well.
I think it's the uniqueness and beauty of that elliptical-wing.
