Not any that I can afford. That's why I need one for Christmas. ;)

The one I need won't fit through the door so I need a carpenter too.

I want electric drums or mp3 or some queen or ac/dc paraphanalia.

A nice tank to scare the neighbors and tax collectors straight , but the stuff above would be nice.

Pretty much. I don't like the gift-giving part of Christmas as it has no special meaning or way to make it meaningful, it's just "getting presents".

Much like birthdays, except they still relate to you as a person at least through their date.

In the Netherlands (as in Luxembourg) we celebrate Saint Nicholas' eve (evening of December 5th, since St Nicholas' Day is December 6th); children and often adults give each other presents accompanied by poems. This gives it a personal touch and often a lot more meaning than simply getting stuff you want.

Roel, you forgot Belgium. We also celebrate St. Nicolas (some parts of belgium rahter celebrate St. Maarten on 11 november (I live in such a place, 20 kilometer further it's St. Nicolas)).

Here, we just give our kids presents so that they would stop nagging for a couple of days :p

Merlin, you shot the big one. Winning Euromillions and you can be the rich, popular (great)grandfather until they have a job and earn their own money.

Already greatgrandchildren. My Grandfathers need to wait at least 3 more years before they have any change of getting some grandchildren.

Before Soweto, I would probably put something material for my Christmas list. After feeling what it was like to be away from my family and lack a lot of things (shower, refrigerated milk) I appreciate these things. Every day when I get in the shower, I get a feeling of joy and apprecation. It is quite wonderful, having my eyes opened and being able to enjoy the (cliche) small things in life again.

Ideally, peace on earht and goodwill to all men.

Utopian visions aside... a nice time with my family would be good.
