Theres video of him hanging on youtube.

The damn guy with the camera phone pointed the lenbse towards the floor with a lot of it. I really wanted to see the very life leaving his body as he hung on the gallows.

Oh yes, he deserved at least as much dignity as he granted to those people fed into the woodchipper.

I have no problem with what the Iraqis did to him; Saddam got, as John Wayne once said, "a fair trial and a fine hanging."

Nope. Getting Saddam was not the objective. Removing Iraq from Kuwait was what the entire Coalition was there to do. If we went after Saddam, it would have been very bad politically as the Arab partners would have been pissed.

Unfortunately, we and the rest of the world (aka UN) were supposed to keep an eye on Saddam and Iraq and eveybody failed to do anything about it.

Of course all Saddam loyalists would have been quite happy with his hanging had it been done better? Hardly.
The hanging changes nothing insofar as the sectarian enmity in Iraq goes nor did anyone think that it was a solution to that problem.
The fact that there are lots more murderers at large in Iraq doesn't change the fact this was simply justice for one particular brutal murderer.
