http://www.drudgereport.com/flash2.htm Why wage the color war? I think if you were smart you wouldnt say anything because you dont want to offend any white voters. ok this is just getting crazy...Racism (white-black) isnt that big in the US anymore...but racism Black-White is huge....I was in study hall last year and this AA blew his noose into a tissue threw on the floor and told me to pick it up...I said no and all of a sudden started yelling RACIST RACIST. now not all blacks are racist just the same as how all whites are not racist, I have a lot of black friends but never approached them with this question because I dont want to be seen as Racist.
Oh my aching a$$. My theory is that he won't be get it because: 1) He has to beat Billary for the Democratic nomination. 2) People like plain names. Look at George Bush, Bob Dole, John McCain, John Kerry, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter.
I don't think he'll get it, either. While he does seem nice enough, he has even less government experience than Hillary Clinton (who has even less than any of her other Democrat competitors), he has yet to state his position on any of the key issues, and his Islamic sounding name isn't going to win him any votes in a lot of post-9/11 circles. His father, I have read, is supposedly a Muslim extremist, while his mother is supposedly an atheist, while he was supposely raised for a number of years as a Muslim. I cannot vouch for any of this, but if any of it is true, it definitely won't help him, either. Even if none of it is true, you can bet that there will be those who'll spread it around anywway, as a smear tactic. Plus he is largely an unknown on the political stage. Dark horses have won elections before, but not often.
That guy is a huge f**king jerk. I wouldnt have have disabled his sense of smell for a aweek if you know what i mean
I can't understand all the hype about this guy. What has he done to earn it?Absolutely nothing as far as I know.
He's the first black man to have a realistic chance of winning the presidency. His relgion(islam) also has to do with it.
We shall see just how realistic his chances of winning are. His competition will soon begin their attacks on him, and he will respond in kind. He is getting by right now on charm and fluff pieces, but that can't last; he's going to have to state his position on the issues, as well as his solutions for the nation's problems. Failure to do so will cost him the nomination. I have no intention of voting for him, unless his opponent turns out to be Osama bin Laden.
Acctualy he's not muslim. Obama belongs to the "Unashamedly black and Unapologetically Christian" Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Illinois. This became a bit of a dispute after the flop with madrassa (it was public school): http://majikthise.typepad.com/majikthise_/2007/02/tucker_carlson_.html How about Howard's comments.
if he was 10 years older and his name was jefferson williams he might stand a chance ..america aint electing any one named barak obama any time in the forseeable future...or barak anything else for that matter....even if he was the wisest , most handsome ,most charismatic person ever to stand at a podium....
Acctualy his first name is interesting: Barak - is old caananite and hebrew for lightning. He is in good company with this name. If you remember former Israeli's PM surname was Barak. Famous family name Barcas was probably only wrongly inscribed by romans (like Boudica-Boadicea).
Which is a worrying thing for a democratic nation - basing their election choice on a name rather than on a candidate. Speaking as a member of a country that has never had a non-white PM...
True. However reportedly it was changed at some point from Baraka which is arabic for "blessed". His middle name is Hussein. He was named for his Kenyan father who was Muslim. Barak (Baraka) attended a Muslim school for two years in Indonesia. According to Islamic believers, once you are Muslim there is no going back, you are always Muslim regardless of what you think. Personally I have less concern about his name than I do about his philosophy and voting record (in the Senate) The ADA rated him as being to the left of Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton. Hardly seems possible.
That claim was debunked much to the shame of FOX news (not that they apologised or anything). It was (and still is) secular state school for kids of mixed religions (predominantly muslim as they majority) in that part of town . CNN acctualy went there and checked: video here (wmv)
That link doesn't take you to a video debunking the Obama school story but to a website "crooksandliars.com"
It works on my windows media player. If you are taken to the article on C&L then you have links directly to the video.
Oh god! Start of the American election process. We'll be listening to this yap for the next two years! Can't you guys keep your elections to yourselves?
