That table isn't exactly reliable. Just take the entry on Denmark as an example. While it is true that the minimum age of buying alcohol in stores in Denmark is 16, the age limit in restaurants is 18. This is only a limit for buying alcohol, though, in that there is not any limit as to how old people have to be to consume alcohol, no matter when or where.

Furthermore, the note that a national ID-card can be issued at the town hall is downright false. Denmark has no national ID-cards, except obviously drivers licenses and passports. The card being referred to is the national health insurance card, which is automatically issued to everyone residing in Denmark (so the card isn't obtained at request - it is issued at birth). The card does not have any photograph on it, and therefore can not be considered as proper identification.

Amasing how many errors there can be in such a small entry.

Just a note on the table. Though the age limmit to buy alcohol in Uganda is 18, it is not enforced at all, and westerners who are obviously underage have no trouble buying it and neither from what i have seen do underage Ugandans.
    Ps Happy Birthday

Although the legal age for buying drinks in UK pubs is 18, most teenagers actually start younger - especially girls, many of whom can pass for 18 from about 14 upwards - IDs are not yet compulsory in the UK.

and those who cannot get served merely get a fake ID they are not that hard to obtain. Luckily at the age of 16 I regulary get away with 19+ so the occasional drink for me is no problem

    U look 19 years lol.

In canada the drinking age is 18 in some places and 19 in others. Its 19 here, but everyone drinks anyways. I think they're bringing in special Id's that arent so easy to duplicate.I can legally buy fire rockets and porn now, so its not all bad, well porn can be gotten off the internet, but still.

Just remember to use them in that order - it isn't easy to properly use fireworks when you're blind, you know :p

My dad used to make his own brewskies, but has appeared to stop. They made an unbearable smell in the basement when the brew was fermenting.

In Indiana, legal drinking age is 21.
Of course "back in the day" they could draft you at eighteen...

Some American laws do seem pretty strict to the point of being daft. You can join the army and die for your country at 18 but you can't buy a beer till you're 21. The 18 year old age of cosent seems fairly extreme too as it is clearly counter to reality and human nature. Do I detect a christian, puritan slant to such policies ?

    G ?

Wiki entry for Slovenia should also be corrected as since recently it is illegal for anyone to give allow children under 5 to provide with alcohol (unless for medical purposes by a doctor - like methanol poisoning). Also after 21:00 all stores still opened after that time (including those at the gas pumps) are not allowed to sell alcohol. Alcohol after 21:00 can only be purchased in the bars. 21:00 ban is strictly enforced.

Heh Zeratul. I was cooking schnaps = slivovka (plum brandy ) and viljemovka (pear brandy) since i was a kid. Stopped now as state taxed the equpment (tough it is still in the cellar ready to be used if neccesary :D ).

You have to see the "law" in an African context. It then becomes highly flexible.
