Russia and India announces 5th generation fighter

    I read it in an aviation magazine. I can't remember if it was Air Forces Monthly or Air International, but it didn't say much more anyway. A 5th generation fighter implies something comparable to the F-22, is it just the Russians boasting again?

    If the aircraft looks like those pics i would say yes it resembles it, but who knows how it will actually look like?!

    Considering the projected year of entry into the service (2005) I doubt this is a serious project.

    Not to mention the other contradictory dates mentioned in the article.

    Right... So it'll enter service in Russia a year before the prototype's first flight and six years ahead of the first deliveries and in India a mere two or three years before the first deliveries are made. Impressive. ;) :roll:

    Hmm reading that article i think your combining/confusing to projects mentioned in the article! :cool:

    PAK FA [ Perspektivnyi Aviatsionnyi Kompleks Frontovoi Aviatsyi] and LFI (logkiy frontovoi istrebitel)

    LFI is a MiG project and PAK FA the Sukhoi projectv(altough 2006 seems to be to optimistic :D )

    I can't find a date attached to the article. Considering that we are at the beggining of april, could this be a april fools day prank?

    2005 was just a typo. They probably meant 2050!
