If you have ever read the book inside the third Reich by minister of a armaments Albert Speer it talks in great depths about his job as an arhictet about the Great Dome and the Arc and the buildings (which are shown in this movie clip) that were being designed during the 1930's that would've been finished around 1950. Berlin wouldve been amazing with its buildings. Its a great book around 600 pages it also gives a good insight on the daily life of hitler and his group. Albert speer designed the new Chancellery or how ever its spelled... well if you find this book i suggest picking it up.

I've seen a model of Speer's vision - all huge square buildings and open roads...

I own that book. Highly recommended! ... but, be careful to sift through the bias and self-justification.

I haven't actually read Speer's book, but it is common for biographies of people involved in morally reproachable organizations to be filled with excuses and alibies. Speer certainly would not want to be remembered as a Nazi and a right-hand man to Hitler, so he would argue how the great evils of his time went on without his knowledge or beyond his power to prevent.

    .

Speer stayed with his fuhrer till the end , parting with him after hitler's birthday bash in the bunker circa 45 ,
artfully creating an impression of an opponent , he wormed his way into post war forgiveness as a "good deluded german" bashfully sorry for all those horrors , even planing to kill hitler himself , since he was one of the biggest user of slave labor and toiled to the end for the reich it doesn't quite wash
an artful dogger with a variable sincerity and no great achitectural talent :bang:
