Does anybody know any details about Panthers in the French Army after the II WW? I found informaton that two French Tank Regiments were equipped with them till 1950's. But I wuld like to know how many of them were used by the French, and which units were equipped with them.

I found this link. Unfortunatelly, I cannot read French.

From what I know 2 french units were equipped with Panther tanks after the war.
These were 6 eme Cuirassiers based in Olivet and 503 RCC based in Mourmelon.(This unit is referred to 530 RCC on the link you provided which is an error since no such regiment exists).
Both regiments are said to have used some 50 Panther and several Jagdpanther.

    thank you :)
I will keep searching for more information. I heard that the french panthers were put out of service rather quickly due to the lack of spare parts and their guns were sold to Israelis, who put them on their Shermans.

I also remember reading that the Russians fielded a few Panther's themselves.

I remember seeing a photo some where with some French Panthers in line with what looked like ARL-44's.

DidnĀ“t the Panther influced the development of the french tank generation build after the war. The ARL 44 looks like a mix of the Char B1 and the Panther, so the Leclerc has a german grandpa ;)
