canadian Submarines

    Did canada operate submarines during ww1 or ww2 ?

    AFAIK all we did naval wise in WW2 was escort duty. Only thing I can think of that may have been a Canadian ship was the destroyers for naval bombardment at Dieppe.

    I think we may have employed our sub service as trainers for our escorts on hunting them.. I dont think they ever actually deployed on an war patrol

    The Canadian navy had no operational submarines in the WW2 time period, any training with submarines for ASW was done with either USN or RN submarines.
    However, a small number of Canadians did see service with the Royal Navy submarine service during WW2
