I gotta agree with Quillin on this one; the German ships looked a lot better than did the ersatz TITANIC. Especially the S-boats.
the amount of planning required must have been unreal. i wonder if he used autocad. my hat is off to Dieter Gärtner, i could never do something like that.
i wonder how many boxes of tooth picks did he have to buy, or did they give him a frequent buyers discount?
matchstick mania I think you'll find all the sticks come in the kit, personally do not appeal to me, finished models or the time used to build em.
Matchstick ships These models are quite exquisite, and are equalled only by those made of mutton bones by Napoleonic war French prisoners incarcerated in the Norman Cross prisoner of war camp near Peterborough. I used to habituate a little pub called "The Fox" built almost on the site of that camp and it was a commonplace to see ghostly lights out in the fields where the camp once was ! BG
