Okay people, start donating 5 bucks and we'll have our own private tank(army) :D
I wouldn't go for the Stug's unless they add the spare parts

Although these old tanks wouldn't help us much in modern combat, it certainly may be interesting to have.

There's a Chieftain tank in Ireland that I saw at a military show here a few weeks ago that had a for sale notice on it.

I'd love to have the money, the time, the space and the ability to buy one of those tanks and restore it.

We'll have to keep an eye on this so we can put them into the PMVR when they get sold!

We can always invade Africa and use the resources of that continent to build better tanks :D
As for modern equipment, the belgium army sold half of its material (Leopards, jeeps, trucks, helicopters, etc..) a couple years ago. Now we have to wait untill they sell the other half :D

I can't believe they are just "giving" them away! Surely they must have some value and whilst not cutting edge they are still a competent western tank which could continue to be used in S America/Afria/Asia to some effect.

I notice the article doesn't mention postage and packing, do you reckon I could persuade them to bring one to the UK?

According to that link Simon gave us, those Australian Leopards are meant for Australians only. Bummer.
But maybe one of our members from oz could act as a middleman?

I think we'll need at least some Leo1s to do that.

It's a shame the Admin can't combine topics:

Could be a start for Greig's plans, I wonder if he's interested in taking on staff?

Imagine the amount of paperwork you'd have to fill out to own your own tank...

You forgot the money you have to pay the insurance company. :p

Not to mention the legal costs once the cops catch up with you.
