The Brits ought to threaten to boycott the games.

This is ridiculous. Teams shouldn't be banned from any kind of major tournament just because of their nationality.

It isn't a sporting team, they are a squadron of pilots who do air stunts, but as it seems organisers are worried about PC because the pilots are all pilots in the RAF

So essentially the same thing could have happenend with the Blue Angels over Salt Lake (had that been proposed....)

I concur, that's stupid. Nobody's gonna care who the teams from they'll just enjoy the show like good little spectators.....how 'bout the Snowbirds fly for 'em, lol?

Red arrows should be renamed to " Eddie "the Eagle's" birds", after very famous UK athlete ( quite according to the olimpic spirit). :D

To those that don't know who Eddie "the Eagle" was/is he was the one of more famous ski jumpers of the 90's. Screw the all other competitors, he was always the last, but everyone admired and cheered the kid with very thick glasses, he realy was a darling of the crowds. It takes guts to go down the giant ski jump ( around 200m jump) as he did. Unfortunatly he was later banned from competeng (bastards claimed for his own protection) after the ski jump rules changed.

Like Siberian said, that's stupid. Any kind of team, ranging from amatuer to world class, shouldn't be banned because of where the members come from or where the team represents.

Yeah, Eddie Edwards was quite famous here in Finland. He even recorded some songs which were quite succesful both here in Finland and in UK.

Maybe they should form an 'international' display team, with one plane from each national display team :D

offically the red arrows have said that they only book their diary at most 2 years in advance and have not been asked to attend by anyone.

This is probably a think tank idea that the press have blown out of all proportion.

That actually sounds like a good idea.....although it would create an interesting squadron if they each brought their own plane....
