    Especially when you take in mind what happend to the St. Lo.

    Well, in the case of a CVE, you have to factor in their relatively light construction and the presence of large amounts of aviation gas, which is highly inflammible. This is not a good combination in the face of a kamikaze attack.

    idd, but i expected that the Laffey had the same amount of armour and that the planes or burning fuel might get to the ammo storage rooms, causing the same explosion that took out the St. Lo
