Legendary "Father of Rock n Roll" passed away today. Before my time, but as a music fan, he was unparalleled. Always remember throwing on my father's vintage albums as a young kid and speeding around the house. RIP. Chuck Berry, rock 'n' roll pioneer, dead at 90 - CNN.com
Was lucky enough to catch his show twice, a long time ago. Got his autobiography somewhere, published for his 70th birthday. Some amazing stuff in that. We'll never see his like again.
How could you listen to him and not get going? I think that is the true meaning of rock and roll. RIP KTK
Saw a show in the early '70's. He was playing with a local backup band as he often did. The local guitarist was a bit too enthusiastic and kept stepping (musically speaking) on Chuck, who proceeded to run him off the stage in the middle of a song. Doubt there was a garage band from my generation who didn't cut their teeth on "Johnny B. Goode"
