I can't see the picture. It might be my IPad. I couldn't access it on my laptop either. Maybe someone else can see it? Sorry.

I could not either. Sometimes mine disappear also. I have thought it was because I posted it from a photo hosting site where the photo was too large or I did not reduce the size enough.

That is certainly not a US military-issue award. Maybe issued by a veteran's organization. It looks more like a lapel pin.

What makes you think it is from WW2?

Never seen anything like it, anywhere, not from the military. Where did you get it or the photo?

Its a query on the UK sister site - the soldier was RAMC (Medical Corps) in both North Africa and NW Europe
    IMG_20180808_095930.jpg

It doesnt appear to be a UK award/citation and the overall look appears to be US hence the query on here to see if anyone could identify it.

If its not US - definitely not British - not sure where to go next.

Have asked the member who started the thread [UK] to try obtaining the relevant service records to see if he was transferred to a US army or other nations army for a period of time and hence involved in some action or something that would merit being awarded the medal

    edit:
Looking at US unit citation awards the look of it similar, [not conclusive proof] - US ww2 unit citation - Google Search

Not a US service, Army or Naval unit citation decoration
