Nice model, but the story is a fairy tale, isn't it? http://www.xs4all.nl/~tozu/l46/L46-p-80.htm BTW, was there an equivalent of the German "Circus Rosarius" on the Allied side, so Ju-88s etc. with U.S./British/ Soviet markings? Maybe more for the modellers section. Cheers,
Andy - the RAF certainly had a unit which operated captured Axis weaponary i forget which unit. Martin might be able to tell us. There was a thread in the weapons section on captured aircraft.
Knew it had been done. Here it is: http://www.ww2forums.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=000150
This was the RAF's No. 1426 ( Enemy Aircraft ) Flight. See : - http://www.luftwaffe-experten.co.uk/raf-enemy.html
Interesting site, thanks. Did any German intact jet fighter made it into Allied hands before the war ended? Cheers,
I think here´some Me 262´s http://www.stormbirds.com/squadron/planes/planes.htm and one He-162 the "white 23 " http://www.airartnw.com/jetinterceptors.htm Hs 132A was scheduled to have its first flight in June 1945, the wings and fuselage were never mated, and Russian forces captured the intact fuselage in May 1945. http://www.luft46.com/henschel/hs132.html NAtter Fifteen were of the A-series, and four B-series aircraft. All were constructed at Waldsee. Still others were assembled by the Wolf Hirth glider factory. Four additional Ba 349s, possibly of the B-series, were captured at the end of the war by Allied forces near St. Leonhard, Austria. http://www.fiddlersgreen.net/aircraft/WWII/natter/info/info.htm
