Hello, My name is Adam and I am trying to find information on my grandfather. Unfortunately, he passed before I became interested in his WW2 experiences. His name was Charles "Buck" Parker Jr. from Chesapeake, VA. He was a Sgt and I know he was in North Africa, Italy, France, and Germany. I know he received 3 purple hearts, but I dont know where. He took shrapnel in his hip when his tank was hit, I believe, and that ended his service in the war. I remember him telling me about having to push a burning tank off of the boat they were on, I believe when landing in Salerno, Italy. But I'm not 100% on that. I would love to know what places/battles he was in as I want to travel to Europe and visit these places. Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance.
I did a Forum search for the 191st Tank Battalion. You may want to peruse through the results: 191st Tank Battalion on WW2F
