Hello, My name is Lars and live in Sweden, I'm associated with The Log Book Project in the capacity of webmaster and researcher. The Log Book Project is an initiative that since 2016 has sent an original genuine pilots log book around the world to collect firsthand accounts from veterans, witnesses and victims of WWII, from all sides of the conflict, asking them to sign it as a token of remembrance. There are today almost 250 signatures in the logbook. The intent is to present each signatory with a profile on our website to illuminate and preserve a small part of their legacy and war time story. As one might imagine a fair amount of research is needed to provide more depth and historical context to each profile...and this is why I am here. I believe this forum has a massive amount of knowledge that I hope to draw benefit from!
Hello, Well, have a few deck logs yes - but only relating to whatever can be connected to a signatory/participant in the project. They are however all from known sources with the exception of two (Van Kinsbergen and Queen Willhemina) that was acquired specially from the Netherlands . (If I understood the question correctly).
Welcome to the forum and ask as much as you would like. I can assure you there will be many who will respond. Outstanding what you are doing !
Thank you. Hopefully I/we will have information to offer in return, the diversity of TLBP is massive and covers all sides of the conflict. One day I am digging into tanks left on a French beach after Operation Dragoon, the next I am deep into archives trying to bring clarity to a crash of an Airspeed Oxford on 4 May 1944 south of Red Deer... then ...it just goes on and on. A big part of the reward and "joy", if one can use such word in the context of horrific war, is the networking and coming across so many different people with their own niche expertise.
