Sorry if i'm posting new topics regarding old stuff...I'm new here. I finally found Cross Of Iron on DVD today...I heard alot of good things about this movie but have never seen it...I didn't feel like paying $30 for a VHS tape. I could never find it on DVD until today..it cost the same as the VHS. Anticipating Hart's War tomorrow....haven't seen it yet.
Cross of Iron is EXCELLENT! and to sound like an echo--it is well worth it--I just bought a used VHS tape and will be buying the DVD after I buy Die Brucke and Hunde, wollt ihr ewig Leben also both on DVD. Now if I can just find somebody who has a copy of Hannibal Brooks for sale on DVD. I thought Harts War was good as well and will buy that DVD and im currently awaiting Behind Enemy Lines to become available.
PS, I have several Original Cross of Iron film cells that im STILL trying to find a place that can develop them into pictures cheap enough so that I can make copies of them and send them to Otto for posting. Same goes for my A Bridge Too Far film cells.
That movie is top notch. The book is excellent too. While not a true story, the author was an LT. on the Russian front. Lawrence Tandy

Well, FINALLY I have four of my Cross of Iron cells developed. I have a scene in which Leutnant Meier is making some men return to the fight, another scene is of an MG-42 in action, two other secenes one shows Obergrfrieter Krueger (blurry) kicking a Russian Soldier--the one he had just shot with his P-38 who had just bayonetted and shot, Leutnant Meier. The other scene shows a few riflemen on the parapet and shows one or two with MP-38/40's.
