We were best buddies with another family in that small Indiana town. Parents liked to go fishing together. This put me in close prox. to a daughter of theirs, Carol, four years older than me. My sister was infatuated with their youngest son, Terry. Carol didn't have the time of day for me.

Fast forward 20 years and Carol's husband is caught cheating and she throws him out. Then she calls me and asks if I'd like to see a movie. I said "sure".

"Deep Throat" was playing in main stream theaters in those days. (The theater we went to had a cop checking IDs at the door to keep the underage folks out.)

Came close to marrying that one. Instead I took orders to Japan. She was rather pissed at me about that.

Heard of ? Yeah but found out it was way more fun to have girl friends rather than one at a time. None of that jealousy stuff.
It very well could have been Acapulco Gold. like I said it was the early 70's .

I arrived in Asia (Hong Kong to be exact) on January 13th, 1970. A little while later I was on the Tonle Sap, strictly as a tourist, of course. The locals had some really good weed. The stuff they don't export.

They told me I had a good time.

The last day of mine was great. Graduation over at 10 PM. Sworn in to the Navy at noon the next day. Offered a scholarship to Purdue, purely pro forma, #2 was going NROTC so the money helped him. I had my rent covered for a while. :D

Graduated the third of June, started the 22nd at what was "Caterpillar Tractor Company" back then. Everything eventually worked out :: 35 years later. 52 Years and I'm now occupying my time Antagonizing other's and hiding out in my Fortress of Solitude in the Great White North.

Yep, Bloomington is a 45 minute drive from my old homestead and about a hal.hour drive south of Peoria.

East Peoria was the World Headquarters for years.

Screw it. I wish the best to Otto & all you who comprehend - but tomorrow marks a point in time where I just can't continue to understand what the Hell is going on. If allowed I'll still be standing in the background to lend a hand. FF2f has been a beacon in the night to me (if ya wanta get ridiculous) but it's time for some disconnect. I'll be stalking in the hidden recesses. Good Luck -Fair Winds & Following Seas, Godspeed !

See, said I'd be lurking. Tomorrow is Inauguration Day. I'll be otherwise occupied. Preferably downing a few PBR (or cases) ensconced in my 7x16 room and taking a minimum 24 hour sabbatical of umm, uh, interaction.

It appears Trudeau's resignation has commuted sentences and/or opened up the asylums.
