"In Australia, around 2.5 million people, or 9.5% of the population, identified as having Irish ancestry in the 2021 census. This is based on people who identified as having Irish ancestry alone or in combination with other ancestries. " 1 in 10...Go back 100 years and it would have been around 1 in 3.

They're talking about ending the Department of Education.

Actually, it won't be needed, so...

This site is not a place for politics, but this is BS...
Key Trump ally launches scathing attack on Australia
Someone should remind this bloke that Australia wouldn't take its OWN horses back in WW1 due to our biosecurity laws...we couldn't bring back our OWN dogs from Vietnam due to our bio-security laws...Australia is an island and has therefore kept many diseases away from it's shores, keeping not only industry but our wildlife away from foreign disease (we don't have rabies in Australia for example) - We are VERY anal when it comes to bringing in animals and food from elsewhere - And we reap the benefits from this.
(we even used to quarantine people for 2 months before being allowed on the Australian mainland)
    Sydney Quarantine Station:

This has nothing to do with trade or the US - It applies to EVRYONE and always has. The US bleat we dont take US beef!
    1. Too expensive due to the treatment it would face.
    2. We have so much beef, we export the majority...Of course we don't import bloody beef!

Whilst Australian exports to the US only amounts to 5% of Australia's total exports ("In 2023-24, Australia's largest export destination was China, followed by Japan, South Korea, the United States, and India.") - The US have only imposed a 10% tariff on Aussie beef - The US is going through a drought at the moment and cannot supply its own domestic beef requirements, so needs to import our beef! The price of a hamburger will go up! - (political suicide haha...) Our lean grass fed beef is better for mince to make patties - We will look to sell more beef to other markets. In the short to medium term, these US policies will only hurt America.

This bloke in the article is either an idiot (doubtful) or is being deliberately disingenuous...Following the Trump ethos no doubt.
