Google is a tool like a 45cal pistol. If you don't know how to use it you fear it, so better to leave the shooting to someone who can. My son is 50 and asked me why so many people were angry at each other these days. "Son, it was not always like that. Before spreading hate and lies became a source of income, ignorant people kept their bigoted opinions to themselves. Now they can share them with 10,000's of people without getting out of a chair and call it making a good living." Google has succumbed to the shitification of the internet anyway. Duck duck go is better. IMO.

 

I’ve found pretty much anything I want on google…arguements for both sides of an arguement, even anti google stories…or information on other search engines, you would be surprised how many are still in use. It uses algorithms to give you what it thinks you want, as it is supposed to. Google’s life depends on people trusting it…I’m not saying everything is perfect or that there aren’t elements trying to subvert, there always is, and it catches the ignorant and gullable (a cohort that’s growing daily)
Information is power, and control of information has been going on since we began to speak. It means you have to go to multiple sources to get a rounded view on a subject…That’s ALWAYS been the case. From chatting, to books,TV and now the net, information is always from a slant. I hold no hope for the ignorant around this, but again ignorance has been with us forever. This site WW2, revolves around the control of information and exploiting bias and ignorance in Germany 1930s…That’s how far what you are talking about can go…burn the books that can challenge the narrative. Reduce the information source to ONE. Freedom of speech is meant to help prevent this…That’s why it’s so important.
