Hey everybody. I've seen an insignia on some of the troops in ww2 pictures there was a strange looking insignia on their arm patch and helmet and i can't figure out what it means. It's a circle and there's an s shape dividing two colors; blue and white. If anyone could please tell me what it means, i'd greatly appreciate it. thanks.

    American, 29th Infantry Division.

Go to www.grunts.net to find more information about them.

Or more obscure-do you mean the 69th Infantry Division?

PS, I think their ww2 nickname was: "The Blue and the Greys" because this Division was made up with men from the North and the South.

ooops--my mistake--MHN is correct--I was mistaking the 69th for them and I think the 69th insignia is red and blue outlined in white? if memory serves me correctly.

Just checked the website MHN posted--he is correct and my memory aint that bad after all. [IMG]
