Finally rented on DVD "Flyboys". It was not what I expected but it was ok. The computer graphics were good. The plot, predictable. I would still opt for "The Blue Max" with George Peppard.

Hi Col. many thanks for this. I will go to Barnes & Ignobles and have them order a copy. And a side note on BHD, I finally found out which character in the movie that Ioan Gruffud played. Ioan was the Lieutanant who mentioned that Sergeant Eversmann (played by Josh Hartnet) who was the guy who liked the "skinnies."

Last night saw a document on De Gaulle part 1. His son, an admiral, was the main person telling about him. Quite a little about the war and more on the family life, but it does help to understand when you hear about his personality why certain things happened.

I did not know he had a daughter, who seems to have been a mongoloid, Down syndrome, but that she was dearly loved by the Man. Usually these children are very lovable although their IQ is not very high.

Been watching episodes of The Time Tunnel vol 1. Will be finishing the last disk tonight. Excellent series by Irwin Allen. Shame it lasted for only about 32 episodes.

Rest in Peace: Irwin, Robert Colbert, Whit Bissel and the guy who played Sergeant Jiggs. Lee Meriwether and James Darren seem to be the only cast members still living.

Saw Red Dawn or part of it the other day...... I have to say that this is definately one of the worst movies ever! Can anybody tell me that had seen this masterpiece as to why the Russians and the Cubans decided to invade Kansas?? Also other then Patrick Swayze and a young Charlie Sheen who are killing all of he bad men, where is the U.S. military??

Definately not a movie to own!!

Its one of those 80's "Teen Flicks" that most teens went to go see. That movie can be placed in the same group as the Rambo movies and as most of Ahnold Schwarzeneggers movies.

As to why the Russians and Cubans invaded the USA, I can't rember but it was told to you at the beginning of the movie. Also, supposedly most of the American military was "cought with-its-pants-down" and destroyed.

I think part of the ""easy"" take-over of the USA was due to illegal immigration into the country. Kinda ironic ((or prophetic)) aint it?

Sure am :snoopy: And had a great time watching this morning on TCM: "The Heroes of Telemark" with: Kirk Douglas, Richard Harris and Anton Differing. Movie hits true to home as I have relatives who still live there and in Oslo, Norway.

Just finished a flick called "Massacre in Rome" with Richard Burton. It was in Italian and the dubbing over Burton's voice was weird.

Saw the part 2 of De Gaulle´s life.

The daughter with the Down syndrome meant so much to him that he wore a medallion under his shirt with the picture of the girl forever. Even when he was the president, his son told, De Gaulle used to keep the code for launching the nuclear missiles inside the medallion with the picture....

Didn't feel like watching anything historical this morning sooo, I watched: The Longest Yard w/ Burt Reynolds. One of the few sports movies I really like. Now, I wish they would make one about the Tour de France races.

Just ordered this document, especially I look forward to hearing Paula Wolf´s view...

The Secret Life Of Adolf Hitler DVD

The rise and fall of the Third Reich told with actual footage, interviews with Hitler's sister, Paula Wolf, a fellow prisoner with Hitler before he came to power, and others. Unusual and seldom-seen footage, including Eva Braun's home movies; narrated by Westbrook van Voorhis.

    USA, 1958, 53 minutes

Hi TA, when I worked for the prison system, they had nothing like that. In fact, if they did have something like that, all it would be doing is inviting trouble (as if there is not enough trouble to go around). Besides that, there were many who held grudges against each other and there would have been some shenanagans from both sides.

Saw Zepplin on Sunday and yes you know who was in it. Yes it was Antony Diffring, I feel sorry for him as he was typed casted into so many German roles. Not bad film for the early 1970's

That is a very good film and if I remember, it also has Michael York in it. I like this one much better than Hindenburg and Hells Angels.
