I watched "Gran Torino" again last night, you know, just in case I missed something. It was still pretty good.

You could see he was going to buy it but I didn't think the shark would jump right out of the pool on top of him.

Watched The Nazi Hunters on Yesterday the other day. The programme was about the Jewish Brigade and a splinter group who plotted to kill six million Germans in revenge for the Holocaust. They planned to poison the water supplies of four major cities, but were foiled at the last minute. They eventually laced bread made for German PoWs in Stalag 13 with Arsenic, which made over 1500 ill, but no deaths.
I'd never heard that particular tale before, and the interviews with surviving members of the group has interested me in finding out more.

I watched "Only the Brave" last night instead of "Gran Torino" again. "Only the Brave" was a low-budget indie type production about the 442nd RCT and the 100th Infantry Bn attempting to relieve a cut-off battalion of the Texas 36th Infantry Division in France. It had a lot of potential, and I expected too much out of it I reckon. Mistakes noticed were that the actors had contemporary long hair cuts, their uniforms were mixed (some were the OD of the 1940s, and some were the shade of green of the 1970s), no chevrons, no unit patches, LT bars on the front of helmets, and the officers of the 442/100 unit were all Asian, and all the actors seemed to be in their 30s-50s. A little too old for soldiers I think. The movie had flashbacks and talk-overs sprinkled in with the action, which reminded me of a WW2 movie with Cornel Wilde that was made in the late 60s or early 70s. Can't remember the name of that movie, but to me it seemed like the director was inspired by that stinker.

I wouldn't recommend watching this movie, but if you decide to do it anyway, don't say that I didn't warn you about it.

As a follow up to reading Sea of Thunder, I watched episode 19 of Victory at Sea about Leyte Gulf. Some good action shots of various Us and IJN ships.
