I tried but I failed. Dad wanted to watch a Heston and the first thing that caught his eye was Battle of Midway. He got his way, of course. On second thought, I think that's the better choice. I wouldn't want to watch Soylent Green.
You may want to see Soylent Green for Edward G Robinson's last role in film. There is something about an actor who has a death scene in the last film they do.
Major Dundee is a great Heston film. I liked it better that Ben-Hur, but I'm sure that I'll get a lot of flack over that one....
Well, when Peckinpaw was hopped up on drugs, and too drunk and obnoxious to direct, Charlton Heston threatened to "run him through" with his cavalry sabre and take over direction. Heston even offered to not accept his salary for his work in order to keep the production running when it fell behind on finances.
I just wished they'd have made "Buckaroo Banzai Against the World Crime League". That would have been a dynamite sequel!
I keep hoping. In the past few years, Earl Mac Rauch has released several comic books and a graphic novel or two, but no word has been given on the sequel. Still, there are a lot of extras on the DVD and the director's commentary is a real treat to listen to. I was surprised to learn that the jet car/truck was real. It was built by a group of jet car enthusiasts called Thrust Racing specifically for the movie.
The Day of the Triffids, the original BBC 1980's version which was much closer to the book unlike that updated one they did this year.
good old Sky.."Dragnet" a real fav of mine back in the 50s, and "the lone ranger" yes it's on again, I must have watched the 1st ever episode last night, as he had'nt got his horse silver then, where was silver? ah! well! he came a cross a buffalo about to gore an injured white horse, and as it charged the horse, the lone ranger shot it, and then nursed the horse back to health, and the rest is history..although no silver bullets then, and no fancy saddle, nor the silver guns...great stuff...
Carl, I have been wanting to see that!! The trailer for that series really looked good. I am jealous because I don't get the AMC channel.
Hi 107th, it is a good series. Michael Rooker is in it as a bigot-and they --well, I shouldnt spoil it for you. Im sure they will have it on DvD sometime soon. Last nights episode was very well done. Looking forward to the next one ;-))
That zombie show has already jumped the shark. Too many plot holes and stupid scenes. It could have been better. Eleven left now!
Hi Bob/ I never got to see the first episode so im still not in the know very well. I wonder if they will make this an ongoing series?
