I watched "Farewell to the King" again a few nights ago. I know there are some plot holes in it, and some far-fetched themes as well, but for some reason I really like that movie. I give it two thumbs up (it's all I have).
Watched "Triple Cross" today on the box, I was surprised to see Yul Brynner as Baron Von Grunen a German officer! First time I watched this film not bad. Triple Cross (1966) - IMDb
Its a good movie but I have not seen in it at least 25 years. I THINK its out on DvD??? Recently watched: A Man Called SLedge-which is a lower budgeted 70s Western but with some great talent associated with it including: James Garner, Dennis Weaver, Claude Akins and the Director was Vic Morrow. Also recently watched Bladerunner for the first time since shortly after it was theatrically released. I hated it the first time but liked it this time out. Been watching the Indiana Jones movies on some cable TV station.
The Walking Dead should be back, overall I thought it was well done. Kind of bummed out, so many shows are at the end of their run.
Im pretty sure it will be back, they just can't leave the viewers hanging on the season finale of the show. Too many things unanswered.
From what I have read, it was one of the AMC channels highest rated shows, so yes it ought to be back.
That was a great movie, and like Carl it has been quite some time since I last saw it as well. Might have to see if Netflix has it in stock.
Hi bobby, I completely forgot that I have a Netflix account. I havent sent for anything since moving from houston to Austin. I might try renting it soon if all goes well? ;-))
I have been watching everything I can find about WWII. The TV is always on the Millitay Channel. Yesterday I watched Nazi Scrapbook from Hell about SS Officer Karl Hoeker's(sp?) Photo album made while he was at Aushwitz in May of 1944. It was very good but also disturbing, the album was full of pictures showing Nazis smiling and having a good time. While a short distance away over 1,000,000 people are being tortured and executed.
Been watching the last couiple of nights, "new" Documentaries on the rise and fall of Hitler and her Reich. Nice "new" footage for a change.
You better go online and update your account first. If you don't your movies will be sent to the old address. The new tenants might not like shoot'em ups and John Wayne movies as much as you do!
The Walking Dead will return in the fall. I saw the first portion of the Rise of the Third Reich which seemed good. Hope I get to see it all. WWII in Color is a little light on detail, but I don't mind the colorization if it brings more people to the subject.
Last night I watched the holiday classic "A Christmas Story" (you'll shoot your eye out kid....). Caught the last one of the 24 hour marathon. It was well worth it.
My wife got the BBC series "Have You Been Served?" and we have been on the floor holding our guts since Christmas day!
