A bump reminder as the programme is now imminent, Monday 27th, for UK TV receivers that is. [IMG]

Part two brilliant great to see those defensive structures and as for SeaLion Hitler made the correct decision. It would have been a blood bath, looking forward to the final part next week.

Some info on the last part -

The final film of the series examines Britain's secret resistance army, codenamed the Auxiliary Units. Effectively a suicide squad, no one was expected to survive beyond two weeks, with their primary task being to wreak havoc among any possible German invasion force. They were warned never to discuss their wartime activities. Here past members reveal their secrets and demonstrate how they were trained to counter any invasion.

aka "The Lost Boys", after their countryside hideouts and equipment cashes. Britain was the only WWII country to establish a Resistance force BEFORE they were invaded. ;)

Close on half a dozen Auxunit OBs survive in Berwickshire, on the Scottish border. Got their NGR's, just never found time to go looking yet. :(

You should try the pillboxesuk technique.

    1. Find a pub near to the location you want to visit.
    2. Tell her your taking her out for lunch and a nice country walk.
    3. Feign surprise when your chosen military structure suddenly appears.
    4. Don't push your luck and try this one too often!

It's tried and trusted here too! ;)
Unfortunately, everything needs to fit around her and our daughters' desire/obsession/need* (*delete as appropriate)to practically live with their three ponies...
Been trying to get to Lunan Bay for two months now, and it's only 100 miles away. Even suggested the old 'family-stroll-along-the-beach' dodge...but no... [IMG]

Hehehe....I can relate gentlemen. It takes ingenuity to lure the wives to spots of historical interest....In my case, she often already pre-empts me when she wants to go on a weekend get-away, by first showing me the nearby WW2 sites and cemeteries....She knows I'll be bringing a list with local cemeteries to visit (for the war graves.... ;) )...Although I hear her sigh when we happen to pass a cemetery and she sees the green CWGC sign on the front enterance. It is not uncommon we'll be all over the cemetery before we finally find a single or few graves, somewhere tucked away... [IMG]

In any case, she does deserves a [IMG]

My wife usually comes up with compromises. Like when I mentioned to her about going to Italy next month for their National Liberation Day, she said Phuket!!! I said what???? She said you go to Italy and I'll go to Phuket. Works for me.
