149th Engineer Battalion Flag WWII

    I purchased the below flag from the daughter of the 149th. The flag has the correct tag inside the sleeve. I noticed the center of the eagle is not complete. From browsing the Net I also saw another WWII battalion flag missing the middle of the eagle. Is this odd? Is something missing? Why is the eagle incomplete? Any help is appreciated.
