My question is this: Could the Japanese pulled off a successful invasion of Vladivostok or Port Arthur to coincide with a German invasion from the west instead of Pearl Harbor? This doesn't have to be in June '41. By taking, or at least besigeing Vladivostok, the Japanese would be diverting crucial reinforcements from reaching the western front. The Japanese could have cut the Trans-Siberian Railway.

    Thanks for any comments [IMG]

Personally I think that by stopping the Red Army troop movements to the "western front" in front of Moscow in Oct-Dec 1941 the German army could have taken Moscow.Whether it would have ended the war victorious for Germany I cannot say for sure.

DonĀ“t know if the Japanese could have taken Vladivostok as there were some great naval guns to stop the Japs there. Probably could.
