Here some findings I did during my "dig-holiday" near the German/Polish border south east of Berlin.

    A big mix of all kinds of stuff;

    - 2 x Sturmgewehr 1944 magazines, one still full with ammo.
    - Gewehr 1943 magazine.
    - K98 cleaningkits.
    - 2 x bayonets frogs.
    - K98 bayonet.
    - 2 x razors.
    - German Blendax toothbrush.
    - German toothpaste.
    - German Polizei fork.
    - German Luftwaffe breadknife.
    - German Heer fork.
    - 2 x MG34/42 magazines.
    - MG box rotted.
    - 2 x German jerrycans.
    - 2 x Russian canteens.
    - German messtin.
    - K98 ammo pouches.
    - Iron Cross 1st class!
    - Silver ring which comes from a foxhole with the MG34/42 magazines etc.
    - MG cartridges in belt.
    - Hautentgiftungssalbe bottles.
    - German rifle grenade.
    - G43 buckplate.
    - German gasmasks.
    - German gasmaskcontainers.
    - German and Dutch coins.
    - K98 rifle belt.
    - K98 muzzle cover.
    - 1kg Sprengbüchse.
    - German tanktrack.
    - German uniformbuttons.
    - K98 was found by a friend of mine.
    - 3,7 Flak shell.

    Etc. etc.
    Live ammo we leave behind!

    Here the pics.

    Best Regards,
    Nick

Fantastic stuff 272VGD!! By the way, thank you all 272VGD, Aru- Ed, the whole lot of you for keeping up with these posts and for the pictures. Especially the pictures of the landscape! For someone like me who has a keen interest in the Hurtgen Forest, your pictures mean a lot, kind of help me visualize the terrain and how difficult the effort was. Again, thank you very much for your efforts.

Great stuff! Thanks for the photos!( Be glad that some agency like the US Park Service hasn't prohibitied such great hunts in US Battlefields. Well, we can still look on private property with permission.)
