    Hello all,

I am brand new to this forum and am trying to get some information about some of the C-47 squadrons that were involved in operations Market Garden and the D-Day drops. My grandfather was a radioman on a C-47 that dropped the 82nd Airborne on D-Day. From what I know of it, they flew 5 missions that day.
If anyone knows of the C-47 squadrons used or (to be more specific) of a C-47 nicknamed the "speckled hen", please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I edited your thread title to reflect the question a bit better. This will result in this thread getting better results in search engines. Even if someone can't answer you immediately, you may get responses in a few months or years time by someone researching at the same units. I can't guarantee results, but the new title will better your odds.

    Good luck in your research.
