Hi, I'm brand new to the forum and came across it when I was researching this morning. I was going to the pre-auction viewing in a hall not far from here and was just going to look at a few coins when one of the auctioneers came along with a small bag of stuff which he wanted to group up with some other badges, tie pins etc. Most of the contents of the bag appeared to be WW2 but what really caught my eye was the Afrika Cuff title (as well as two Luftwaffe Kraftfahr Personal Motor vehicle ratings badges, medallions and a silver Luftwaffe sword knot) . I've always wanted an Afrika cuff but with so many fakes out there and the cost of the originals being what they are I have never managed to get one. I rushed home from the auction to do some last minute research and the particular cuff was ticking most of the right boxes. Anyway I went to the auction where it was mainly the toys, tea cups and furniature crowd. I ended up paying the equivelant of US$60 for the whole bag. I did a burn test on threads from the cuff and they ash and not melt. If its the real deal I got a bargain, if not the bags of stuff is still worth 60 bucks. What do you think?
