    Only 2 days left...

on the night of friday till saturday say around 5am i will start my old diesel engine again and head for France grounds...

I will make a lot of pics again and a short summary of the locations that ill visit will be:

First leaving in the night for france, drive along the coast of Normandy (again:D)
Last time didnt had time anymore for Point du Hoc, so this time its a diffinatly go for that. Also because of the fact that point du Hoc is sliding into the sea.

The we go further southbound for the Fondee to see nice Castles of the middelages (im studying History :p)

But on the way home and make the circle complete we go through the Ardennen and ohmy its beautifull there..! Forgot to see one museum last time, Dead mans Corner.. and maybe do some searching there..

Hopefully the old "Tikibus" will make it home haha

Here's a pic of her from last year in Normandy

may I suggest a camo paint job instead of the loud blue Robby on your wagon

enjoy the trip; as with the others photos will be expected, and as a further suggestion to your itinerary please visit the Alsace and drive through it slowly, the wines are spectacular, and Skip will admit to this plus the old Castles and medieval fortifications along the route...

personally I can't wait to get back there

can a mod change the topic title in "Im back from the trip, Lots and lots of pics inside"

After a complete week of touring through mostly Normandy we and the van lost a lot of fluid lol (VW van broke down once because of a not working thermostate, but after a 25€ repair we continued the journey)
The whole week temperatures hitting almost 40c, so we decided the drive on the hottest time on the day because of the driving wind. We drove 2550 km this week and saw 6 different campsites.

The pictures i will show you are the more WWII related ones, we also visited castles and oceans and restaurants etc, not going to share those because it was allready alot of work to resize these and upload them.. Hope you like the pictures and if some one like a high res one for his desktop orso, let me know..

here a some pictures from Point du Hoc, last year i didnt went so this was a thing i had to visit this trip.
This place doesnt need information i think, everybody knows it. The palce where the 2nd rangers commanded by Col. J.E. Rudder scale the summit in just a few minutes despite the slippery surface, heavy rope because of the seawater and enemy fire. Only to find out that the heavy guns are replaced by wooden loggs. The guns were placed on a different location found by the 2nd ranger battalion. This place cost the lives of 135 Rangers

Today there is heavy construction done on the main bunker and the cliff. The sea is eating away the rock underneath it. So they are placing vertical concrete pilers through the rock and doing much more to it i didnt look in to yet. So you couldnt visit everything.

I know I've said it before but; On one hand I wish we had areas like this here and on the other hand I'm glad we do not. Great pictures.
