    Alzheimer

So, we have a subject for sick jokes now do we?
    You think Alzeimers is funny?
Let us all hope and pray that you never have to nurse a loved one who suffers from it.
God help you, you'll need him.

    alzheimers

Thank you Ricky for your understanding, when you can see people, relatives or old friends that you respect, suffering in this way,and even more so for the carers that look atfer them you wonder why?
Old men and women that fought through the war years, brought up families do not deserve to end their lives in this way.
More than that, people on this Forum who submit what they consider to be funny jokes should consider this. Do they make jokes about old people who are still suffering from battle stress of 60 years ago?
People who do not know what the future years hold in store for them,
let us hope that it does not happen to them.
As a new comer to this Forum I am surprised and saddened.

    Re: alzheimers

Death is never a nice thing no matter how it comes about, but life is for the living and some times sick humour is the only thing to help. In the forces and no doubt the emergency services Police, etc you see some things which people in normal jobs don't see. It is not an excuse but how can you see attrocities one day then try to go to a school and talk to small children as to why they sould join the army, navy or airforce. Some times it is not easy to talk about it and sick jokes do help you through these things. Somethings I have seen and some my friends have talked about in drunken moments shouldn't see, but they do. Don't judge others by what you think is normal because to others it is not.

P.S. my father died from cancer a few years ago and I still tell jokes about it, it does help at times.

I know close to nothing about Alzheimers.

Has the cause of Alzheimers been found?
    Are there any treatments?

I'm missing a few myself, on the old WW2 system. I know Able, Baker, Charlie, Dog, Easy, Fox, George, How, Item, Jig, King, Love, Mike, Nan, Oboe, Peter, Queen, Roger, Tare, Uncle, Victor, William - but who knows the proper words for X, Y and Z?

As some may have noticed, the ones I do know were used for planning Overlord; they are the assault areas. The first seven are Omaha, H through K is Gold, L through N is Juno, O through R is Sword and T through W is Utah.

    Re: Alzheimer

There's nothing in the world that couldn't be for laugh. You can't take everything so seriously. My grandfather also had Alzheimer. He was in a comunist concentration camp and worked in uranium mine. I don't think that some joke could insult any of those people...
