Were there any Americans that served in the Axis Armies during WWII? I've done a search for this on the forums and couldn't find any information on this.

There were indeed people, in the grand scheme of things there were many citizens from "Axis" nations fighting alongside the "Allies" and vice versa. I'll find a few sources for you shortly but one example as seen in Band of Brothers is the German American soldier captured during the landings (second episode IIRC). "We answered the call of the fatherland" or something like that.

Apparently when it comes to the S.S., not much information is known.

The Band of Brothers is what got me thinking about this. Thanks for the links.
