    Surprised you asked.

    I lead a local Airsoft team within the city.

    we play at some tactical place or in my local forest (I just live outside of the city and my friends and I created a course within my backyard ((about 6 acres of roam))

    We mainly use high powered AK-47s but I got many other weapons incase our opponents forget or what not =]

    Can't remember where it was, but I saw a motivational poster with a real fat guy all dressed up retarded like he was in the army. And it said...

    "Airsoft: Putting the special in special forces."

    I highly agree with it.

    LMAO!

    Get real... Its playing toy soldiers and NOTHING like the real thing.

    I play wargames... That must mean I know whats its like to command an army... Yer right...

    Airsoft is a recreational hobby and bears as much relation to Modern Warfare as walking a dog.

    "Airsoft - For people too thick to be infantry"

    I find it funny how some who play with Airsoft guns are ok with with playing and pretending about shooting someone with a weapon but in REAL life are against them.

    Well not sure what kind of company you've been keeping old chum, but I'd love to have the kind of access our U.S. cousins enjoy when it comes to firearms. I only took up airsoft to get my son into some good drills as the laws have changed so much here in the UK that he can't even enjoy the same guns I had as a lad. Shameful development in my books.

    Nothing like spending a few hours without experiencing the true life of a soldier LOL. Not having the daily fear of death or mutilation.Or the long periods of heat ,cold,rain and other effects of weather. Among other aspects of a soldiers life. :rolleyes:

    One of the things I like about airsoft is how worked up folk get about it, from the playing geardos to the non-playing cynics, it's all part of the inter spod civil war...

    When they came for the airsofters,
    I remained silent;
    I did not run around in the woods playing soldiers.

    When they locked up the reenactors,
    I remained silent;
    I did not dress up in uniforms from years ago.

    When they came for the wargamers,
    I did not speak out;
    I didn't play with toy soldiers.

    When they came for the tank-spotters,
    I remained silent;
    I didn't know a 38t from a T34.

    When they came for me,
    there was no one left to buy my history books.

    Airsoft is a game. I like airsoft. I like strategy and tactics so Airsoft fullfils my tactical side. I do not wish to go to a war. Why would anyone? So, I like playing with toy guns and I'm ok.

    Cheers...

    It's the fact you see these people put hundreds.... sometimes thousands of dollars to play "soldier" and to a lot of military personnel, or the ones I've talked to about it, find it insulting. Especially when the airsofters (not all) have never experienced the true life of war and being in the service, but act like they're freaking commandos or something.

    Folk do get wound up about this quite a bit don't they?

    Here in the UK maybe it's different, but you get a lot of ex-squaddies and squaddies playing. Sure you've got the odd "all-the-gear-and-no-idea" bod but they're not only good for a laugh but they make excellent targets.

    What about them? I say live and let live. If they're happy like that let them be. I spent some money on airsoft and will spend more. I practiced urban combat tactics with instructors and alone and I enjoy it. I have no knowledge of what war is and don't pretend to know. Actually, I don't wanna know and I'm glad about that. So, I don't understand why some soldiers find it insulting the ones I know either play or, find the idea amusing and wanna have a go.

    Cheers...
