Couldn't find a thread dedicated to miscellaneous subjects, So i hope this does not bother the Moderators.

Coming up to 25th of April, Anzac day for us Aussies and Kiwis. I would just like to take this time to remember the brave men and boys and woman that fought not only for Australia and New Zealand, But for our Mates, For those we didn't know but needed a hand, Id like to pay my respect to those that gave there best side by side with our diggers, To the brave men that thought when ordered by our enemies, Especially to Johny Turk =).

So on 25th of April, Have a BBQ at home, or go to the pub.. And raise up a beer for the brave men and woman that have fought and are still fighting for there loved ones, there mates and there countries the world over.

    Cheers, von_noobie (Matthew)

Don“t know a reason why this should bother anybody?! They were brave men and knew how to fight. My Grandpa has seen action against the New Zealanders at Monte Cassino. They deserve my respects!

The ANZACs and Canadians were from countries with fairly low populations. In many of their battles they took heavy casualties and thus sacrificed more as compared to their general populations than did the USA or UK. Most definite respect from me!

Most country towns in Australia has its own cenotaph...the long...long lists on all of them makes ones head spin when you turn around and see the small town it sits in...
A game of two-up is in order i think.

I think the day was mentioned elsewhere, but I don't know where. In any case, have a good Anzac Day. You all deserve it. I have a feeling that most of the Rogues don't need further incentive to have a brew (or two).

I'll be sure to toast Anzac Day - as long as it's alright to pop a top on a Michelob (American you know).

And it will be a couple days late but just got a new grill so Saturday I'll repeat the toast with the above mentioned BBQ spare ribs as I 'break it in'. To set the proper mood I'll even throw a few shrimp on the barbie!

Just be sure the back flap is buttoned. The canoe has wood seats.

Yeah the you tube has Canadians on it...not diggers...mostly...but it don't have NZ guys and gals either...but the sentiment of the song is haunting...Its the Diggers song..belongs to them...Anzac day will live forever...And I play that tune most days on my journeys around fields...Haunting...

Holy cow! My old smoker/grill is nearly the same. This picture shows what it USE to look like. That was a few years and many, many pounds of ribs, steaks, hamburgers and smoked Salmon ago! I use it when I want that true charcoal experience or smoking fish or jerky. Rust ? doesn't hurt a thing.
