Im in the early stages, with the help of my local RBL branch, of putting together an audio archive of wws experiences. Im a full time web site designer a member of the RBL, and I have a huge intrest in ww2 history. Ive had this idea as a project "to do" for some time, its now time i did something about it. The idea is to interview people that have a "tale to tell", not just service personell but also wives, sweethearts, school children, evacuees etc etc etc. I want to document british society as a whole during the war years 39 - 45. Everybody has alive in those years has a story to tell and although there are many good projects out there documenting these things they tend to focus on the military tales. My idea is to encompass ALL areas of society and to create a web site around them. Each interview will be recorded in audio and uploaded to the site along with a transcript of the interview. Ive been supplied with a list of potential volunteers by my local RBL but i want to throw the net wider and include people living in Devon, and Somerset initially but also cornwall, Bristol and Bath areas. I intend to spread even further afield as things progress. So ... Im looking for volunteers, ex-service men and women, Civilian factory workers, evacuees, miners, teachers, etc etc etc - in short, I want to hear about your war time experiences, whatever they are. if youre intrested or know of someone that would like to volunteer their experiences please drop me a line. NB: This is a Non profit project. If in the future it turns out that there is the possibility of raising cash from the project, those funds will be donated to the RBL. regards paul paulseymour81@hotmail.com
