Butler's jeep gets its own festival

    It's no secret that Butler County is the birthplace of the jeep, credited by historians as one of the Allies' most valuable weapons during World War II.

    Now the county is revving up a campaign to blow its horn a little louder.

    The Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau has announced that the first Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival will be held for three days in August, a major effort toward promoting the historical significance of something that put Butler on the national road map 70 years ago
