Can anyone identify a WWII winged eagle pin?

    Among my grandparents personal belongings, I found a gold and silver spread winged eagle pin which has a silver chevron in the middle and five silver stars at the eagles feet as shown in the photo at this link:

    I found the following picture on the internet which is a pin similar to the one I have:

    I had five uncles who served in WWII. Two were killed: one on the U.S.S. Concord and one in the Battle of the Bulge. Any help would be appreciated.
